A week ago I was invited by the UN-Habitat to perform at the MOT musical main stage concert at Circo Voador in Lapa, Rio de janerio, Brazil and to take part of  the 5th World Urban forum.

I  had never been to Rio so this was my very first time.

For those of you that don’t know, I’ve been a MOT ( Messenger of Truth) since 2007. The title sounds heavy but it’s not heavier than the burden of not even trying.

When I write my songs they are often personal and based on my own experiences. As a girl Born in India but raised in Norway I have some thoughts and experiences I have been able to deal with and shared through my music. Music has been my outlet and as a MOT artist I will keep highlighting and addressing issues of Urbanization. This is who I’m and there are many of us growing up in cities all around the world.

I’m thankful for this opportunity and I hope that my music and my work will make a difference.

Rett før påske ble jeg invitert av FN til å spille i Rio de Janeiro, på MOTs Musical Main Stage. Dette var ikke første gangen jeg opptrådte på et FN-arrangement. I 2007 ble jeg valgt ut som MOT-ambassadør og fikk tildelt engasjementet av selveste UN-Habitats Executive Director, Anna Kajumulo Tibaijuka. Som MOT (Messenger of Truth) har jeg opprådt både i Nanjing, Kina og Mannheim, Tyskland.

I loved my outfit! Anne Holm Alexandersens neck piece is just to hot for words. The cat suit  & belt from Nina Järebrink with Atacoma Black Metal shoes from Acne made me feel like a real vixen.

Ronald, Amalie, Sandra And Daniel looked fierce and they kicked ass on stage! They we’re leathered up in H&M. the girls wore the black leathered jumpsuits and the boys had black leather  biker jackets.

On saturday  I played at Spot in Kristiansand. Me and my dancers performed Change, Money and ADHD Live! It was fun to hear u guys sing along but I was real impressed to see that so many of you knew the dance moves from the video. Loved it! Go Sørlandet!!

It got real H:O:T in my Acne leather dress but thanx to the amazing drinks it really didn’t matter…

Den 6 mars var det endelig tid for spellemann og jeg hadde gledet meg til å feire det jeg må få kalle et godt år for norsk musikk.

Anja Stang anbefalte meg den nydelige pudder rosa Pia Haugseth kjolen og vi fant de perfekte skoene til på Eger. Den nydelige fletta og sminken ble gjort av Marte Økelsrud. Jeg trodde jeg var klar for fest da jeg leste den syke nyheten om Lydverket. Det viktigste musikkprogrammet på Norsk TV!!! Vent det eneste musikkprogrammet. Der musikere blir intervjuet for musikken sin og ikke  minst den musikken som inspirerer dem. Det å få en live konsert sånn rett inn i stua slik Lydverket har levert den siste tiden, Hvordan kan det være feil?  Jeg ble utrolig lei meg! Så jeg ringte Fam og spurte om hun kunne ”tatovere” meg for anledningen.. et La Voilá!

I dag velger mange tusen ungdommer hva de skal bli. Det er IKKE lett – og alle kan jo ikke bli artister. Jeg har fått i oppdrag å være ambassadør for helsearbeiderfaget – og er stolt av å bidra til at flere får øynene opp for den viktige jobben det er å ta vare på alle som blir syke og skadet eller gamle og slitne. Det er kanskje den viktigste jobben som finnes! On the opening night  of OFW I wore a dress from Epilogue, these super cool shoes and leather jacket from Acne, H&M scarf and a egyptian eye in my  hand(made by Fam).

It was an amazing evening! Fam won the designer innovation prize! Just knowing the years and hard work Fam has put into her designs she just really deserves it!! The money will mean a lot for her future coz let me just say it right now, she is going to be one of the most acclaimed designers in the world!

Here are some pics from my by:Larm photo shoot with Photographer Sebastian Ludvigsen, stylist Anja Stang, hairstylist Silje Mikalsen from the hair salon Theresesgate 35 and Makeup artist Stephan Ulvund Øien.

I’ve written some new tracks in the studio and one of them is called “Eyes wide shut”. It has a scary theme, so I wanted to create a special look inspired by the sexy haunting sound in the song. I’ve always been fascinated  by painted eyelids. Especially the ones that look real life like. When you can’t tell if someone is looking or if they have their eyes shut so I asked Stephan to create the look on my dancers for the shoot.

Silje Mikalsen made my hair picture perfect, and  Stephan painted my nails metallic grey. Love the scary effect!

Anja Stang styled me with a dress and shoes from Acne.  Love how she really finds edgy but feminine items.  Like the frankenstein shoes. They are called Atacoma and you can get them in grey and light blue, but my absolute favorite item at the shoot was the super H:O:T leather neckpiece from Anne Holm Alexandersen. She makes the most amazing creations check her out here You can buy her creations at Little Miss T at søndregaten 12 in Oslo.

Tror selv at man kan ha det veldig gøy med klær og sminke, men den indrelykken for min del er helt klart i musikken og tiden jeg tilbringer med familien og vennene mine. I mine øyne kan ikke det ytre erstatte talentet eller arbeidet som ligger bak en vellykket karriere.

Det er fint lite som kan erstatte den følelsen jeg har når jeg ligger her med Walter. Det er så deilig å ha noe så ekte som en god varm valp i fanget.

2009 has been a crazy year and even though I’ve been through all these changes (Hip hop, R&B to Pop), you guys have proved to me again and again how much you enjoy my music! Thank you for buying and supporting my one true love M*U*S*I*C!!

2010 is going to be  such a rush, but first I’m going to be in the studio for at least 2 months. Except on saturday Febuary 20th I’ll be performing at By:Larm, doing spanking NEW songs from the forth coming album and YOU better be there;)
